2026 State of Digital Technology Adoption in Landscape & Tree Care
This first annual Granum research report
Last Updated: December 3rd, 2025Please read these Payer Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) carefully. This Agreement is a legal contract between you (“Payer” or “you”) and Granum, LLC (formerly SingleOps, LLC) (“Granum,” “we,” or “us”) and it applies to all payers who use Granum’s platform to make payments[, whether or not you create a user account]. It covers payments via any method supported on the platform, including credit cards, debit cards, electronic funds transfers (such as ACH debits in the United States and EFTs/PADs in Canada), or other payment methods.
By making a payment through the Granum platform or otherwise agreeing to this Agreement, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Agreement and agree to be bound by its terms. If you do not agree, do not proceed with the payment.
Granum’s Role. Granum provides an online software platform that enables independent third-party businesses (“Merchants”) to invoice customers and accept payments. Granum is not the provider or seller of the underlying services for which you are paying. The Merchant who sent you an invoice or is otherwise charging you (for example, a landscaping or tree care company) is solely responsible for the products or services you purchase, including setting the prices and service terms, fulfilling or delivering the services, and providing any related customer service or support. Granum is not a party to your contract with the Merchant for the provision of those services and does not guarantee the quality, performance, or outcome of any service or project the Merchant provides.
Merchant Responsibilities. Any questions or issues regarding the scope or quality of the service, scheduling, cancellations, refunds, or adjustments must be resolved between you and the Merchant. The Merchant is solely responsible for handling refund requests, cancellations, or disputes related to your transaction, in accordance with the Merchant’s own policies and applicable law. Granum does not issue refunds for payments on a Merchant’s behalf unless the Merchant instructs us to process a refund through our system or we are otherwise required by law to do so. In the event of a payment dispute or chargeback, the Merchant is responsible for addressing the issue with you (and with the payment processor or bank) to reach a resolution. Granum may, at its discretion, assist in facilitating communication or resolution of a dispute (for example, by providing transaction information to the parties), but Granum has no obligation to resolve payment disputes between you and a Merchant. You acknowledge that any legal claim or liability arising from the underlying goods or services (including non-performance or misrepresentation by the Merchant) is between you and the Merchant, not Granum.
No Endorsement or Warranty of Merchants. Granum does not endorse or guarantee any Merchant or their services. Using the Granum payment platform does not imply any endorsement by Granum of the Merchant’s legitimacy, reliability, or capability. You should perform any due diligence you feel necessary before paying a Merchant. Granum is merely a facilitator of payments and does not control the Merchant’s business operations or service commitments.
Supported Payment Methods. Granum’s platform supports various payment methods for your convenience, including credit cards, debit cards, electronic transfers (such as ACH debits in the United States and EFTs/PADs in Canada)(ACH), or other payment methods and any other payment methods that may be offered from time to time. By entering or providing your payment information (e.g., card number, bank account, or other method) and submitting a payment, you represent and warrant that you are legally authorized to use the chosen payment method and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. You authorize Granum (or its third-party payment service providers acting on its behalf) to charge your provided payment method for the total amount of the transaction that you approve. This authorization applies to one-time payments and, if you elect or agree, to recurring payments as described in Section 3.
Payment Confirmation. When you submit a payment through the platform, you will typically receive a confirmation (on-screen and/or via email) that your payment was successfully submitted. This confirmation constitutes Granum’s acknowledgment of receipt of your payment instruction and your authorization, but it is not a guarantee that the payment will ultimately be successful or accepted. In the event a payment is later reversed, rejected, or fails (for example, due to insufficient funds, invalid account details, or suspected fraud), the responsibility to settle any outstanding amount remains with you and the Merchant. Granum may notify you and/or the Merchant of such payment failure and you may need to provide an alternate payment method to complete the transaction.
Consent to ACH Debits. If you choose to pay via ACH or electronic bank draft, you authorize Granum and its agents to electronically debit the bank account information you provide, and if necessary, to electronically credit your account to correct any erroneous debit. For a one-time ACH payment, the authorization is for a single transaction on the indicated date. For recurring ACH payments, the authorization extends to all future debits as outlined in Section 3. You understand that this ACH authorization will remain in effect until you cancel it pursuant to this Agreement, and you agree to print or save a copy of this authorization for your records. If you do not agree to such ACH terms, please use an alternate payment method. ACH payments may be subject to NACHA operating rules and your bank’s terms. Nothing in this Agreement limits any rights you have via your bank to revoke an ACH authorization by providing notice to your bank.
Recurring Services and Auto-Pay. In some cases, you may agree with a Merchant to be billed on a recurring or periodic basis for ongoing services (for example, a monthly maintenance contract). Granum’s platform supports such recurring payment arrangements. If you enroll in a recurring payment plan or auto-pay program with a Merchant, you authorize that Merchant (through Granum’s payment system) to charge your saved payment method automatically on a recurring basis for the amounts due for the agreed services, without needing your consent for each charge. For instance, if you have a lawn care service contract for $100 per month, you might save your credit card or bank account on file, and the Merchant will charge that saved payment method each month when payment is due, without further action from you. Granum will email or otherwise provide you with a receipt for each such charge when processed.
Advance Notice and Amounts. By enrolling in a recurring payment, you acknowledge that the billed amounts may be fixed or variable depending on your agreement with the Merchant. The Merchant should inform you of the billing schedule and any variation in amounts (for example, if the monthly fee changes seasonally or if taxes or additional charges apply). You agree to pay the amounts in accordance with that schedule. Granum is not responsible for providing any notice of changes in recurring amounts; that responsibility lies with the Merchant.
Cancellation of Recurring Authorization. You may cancel a recurring payment authorization at any time. To do so, you should directly notify the Merchant in writing or through whatever cancellation procedure the Merchant provides (such as an online cancellation feature, if available). [Granum may also allow you to cancel or pause recurring payments through a self-service portal if you have created a Payer account. If so, following the provided steps in the platform will cancel future scheduled charges.] Cancelling your recurring payment authorization will stop future automatic charges, but it does not terminate your contract for services with the Merchant. You will remain responsible for any outstanding balance or any services already provided by the Merchant, and you should arrange directly with the Merchant to pay any remaining amounts owed through alternative means if necessary after cancellation of auto-pay.
Free Trials or Promotional Periods. If you are participating in a service that began with a free trial or promotional period before recurring billing, you must cancel the service before the trial period ends to avoid automatic charges to your payment method (assuming you do not want to continue). Any such arrangements are solely between you and the Merchant. Granum’s role is only to process the payments once instructed.
Failed Recurring Payments. If a recurring charge is declined or fails (for example, due to an expired card or insufficient funds), you agree that Granum may (but is not obligated to) retry the charge within a short period, or the Merchant may contact you for an alternate payment method. The Merchant may also suspend or terminate the services if payment cannot be completed. It is your responsibility to ensure a valid payment method is on file and to update it if needed (e.g., if your card number changes or account closes).
Saving Payment Information. Granum’s platform may give you the option to save your credit/debit card or bank account information for future use. If you choose to save a payment method, you consent to Granum and its payment service providers storing your payment method details for later use. Granum itself does not store your full card or bank data. Instead, Granum uses a secure third-party payment processor to store your sensitive payment information and issue Granum a reference token. This means that your actual card number or banking details are stored securely by our payment partner, not by Granum’s servers. Granum only retains non-sensitive identifiers (such as the last 4 digits of a card and expiration date) for display and record-keeping purposes. By saving a payment method, you authorize Granum to automatically fill in that payment method for future transactions initiated by you or for recurring charges you have agreed to.
Use of Saved Methods. A saved payment method may be charged by Granum on behalf of a Merchant for future transactions that you authorize. This includes use in recurring billing (per Section 3) or if you make additional one-time purchases or invoice payments with that same Merchant (or, in some cases, other Merchants using the Granum platform, to the extent you use the same saved method for different merchants). For example, if you save your Visa card when paying one invoice, you might later pay a new invoice from the same Merchant without needing to re-enter your card details. You will still need to take an affirmative action to initiate one-time future payments, except for pre-authorized recurring charges as described above.
Updating or Removing Saved Information. You can request to update or delete a saved payment method at any time. If you have an online account or profile with Granum, you may update or remove stored payment methods through your account settings. If you do not have an account, you may need to contact the Merchant or Granum customer support to request removal of your saved card/bank details from the platform. Granum will comply with such requests to the extent possible, but removing a saved payment method will not cancel any payment that is already in process, nor will it cancel any existing service or payment obligation you have with a Merchant. If you wish to cancel recurring charges, please follow the steps in Section 3.
Security of Payment Data. Granum and its payment partners implement security measures intended to protect your payment information. For example, our payment processor is responsible for maintaining PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliance for card storage, and Granum’s systems use HTTPS and encryption protocols to transmit payment data. However, no system is 100% secure, and you acknowledge that transmissions of payment data could potentially be subject to interception or technical issues beyond our control. By using the platform, you accept these risks. Granum does not store card CVV codes and will never ask you for your card PIN. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information on how we handle personal data.
Third-Party Payment Processors. You acknowledge that Granum uses third-party service providers (for example, payment processors, acquiring banks, card networks, and other financial institutions) to process payments on our platform. These third parties are involved in routing, processing, or settling your payment transaction. By making a payment through Granum, you authorize us to share your payment-related information with such third parties as necessary to complete your transaction, verify your identity, perform fraud checks, or comply with legal obligations. This may include sharing data with the payment processor facilitating the charge, the card or ACH network, the institution that issued your credit/debit card or holds your bank account, and the Merchant’s bank. Granum’s Privacy Policy provides more details on how we protect and share personal information.
No Separate Account with Granum. Making a payment through Granum does not mean you are opening any form of bank account or line of credit with Granum. Granum is not a bank or money transmitter. We act as a technology intermediary to help facilitate your payment to the Merchant. Your payment is routed directly to the Merchant’s account (minus any applicable fees) via our payment processor, and Granum does not normally take possession of your funds at any point. In limited cases, Granum may temporarily hold funds if needed for risk management—such as pending the outcome of a dispute—but such funds are typically held by our payment partner for our benefit until released to the Merchant or returned to you, as appropriate. You will see the Merchant’s name (and/or “Granum” as the platform facilitator) on your credit card or bank statement for these charges, depending on how the payment processor formats the description, but this does not change the fact that the payment is for the Merchant’s services.
Service Fees. Granum does not currently charge Payers a separate fee for using the platform. Any service fees are typically charged to Merchants. If in the future there is any fee charged to you (the Payer) for using a certain payment method or service (for instance, a convenience fee for using a credit card, where allowed by law), it will be disclosed to you at the time of payment. By completing the payment, you agree to pay any such disclosed fee as part of the total transaction amount. Granum will clearly display any Payer-facing fees before you authorize the payment.
Declined or Refused Transactions. Granum and its payment partners reserve the right to decline to process or to cancel a transaction if we suspect it is unauthorized, fraudulent, in violation of this Agreement or applicable law, or if the payment method has been reported lost or stolen. We may also place limits on transaction amounts (per transaction or over a period of time) to manage risk. These measures are intended to protect you, the Merchants, and Granum. If your payment is declined, you will be notified (on the site or via email) and you may need to contact your bank or use a different method to complete payment.
Use of the Platform at Your Risk. The Granum platform and payment services are provided to you on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without any warranties of any kind, except to the extent expressly stated in this Agreement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Granum disclaims all warranties, express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Granum does not warrant or guarantee that the payment services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that every transaction will be processed successfully. No advice or information (whether oral or written) obtained from Granum or through the payment services creates any warranty not expressly stated in this Agreement.
No Warranty for Underlying Services. Furthermore, Granum makes no warranty regarding the Merchant services or goods for which you are paying – Granum has no responsibility for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of any product or service provided by a Merchant. Any issues or claims regarding a Merchant’s performance are solely between you and the Merchant (subject to any warranties the Merchant or manufacturer may provide). Granum does not guarantee that the Merchant will fulfill its obligations to you. You assume the risk of any loss or damage arising from your dealings with the Merchant, except to the extent that such loss is directly caused by a failure of the Granum payment platform itself (in which case any claim against Granum remains subject to the limitations below).
Consumer Protections. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above disclaimers may not apply to you. In such event, this Section will be construed to limit Granum’s warranties only to the maximum extent legally permissible. This Agreement is not intended to deprive you of any consumer protection rights that cannot be waived under law.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRANUM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR: (I) INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, GOODWILL, OR DATA; OR (II) ANY AMOUNT EXCEEDING THE GREATER OF (1) THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FEES ACTUALLY RECEIVED BY GRANUM FROM YOU UNDER THIS AGREEMENT IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (2) FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500). Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or personal injury caused by negligence, to the extent such limits are prohibited. Granum is not liable for acts or omissions of banks, networks, processors, or other third parties in the payment ecosystem. The disclaimers and limitations in this Agreement shall apply not only to Granum, but also for the benefit of its affiliated companies, vendors, service providers, and partners, to the extent those entities would have liability to you arising out of the payment services. They have the right to enforce these provisions as third-party beneficiaries. However, this Agreement does not create any rights or causes of action for any party other than you and Granum.
Termination. Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time, for any reason, by giving notice to the other party. Termination by you may be effected by ceasing to use the Services, providing notice to Granum, and cancelling any recurring payment authorization you previously provided.
Effect of Termination. Termination does not relieve either party of any obligations accrued prior to termination.
Post-Termination Disputes and Refunds. Transactions that occurred before termination remain subject to the dispute, refund, and Chargeback procedures set out in this Agreement; you remain responsible for cooperating and for any amounts finally determined to be your liability.
Survival. Notwithstanding termination hereof, all provisions herein which by their nature should survive such termination shall remain in full force and effect.
Governing Law. This Agreement and any dispute or claim arising out of or related to this Agreement or the payment services shall be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, and (to the extent applicable) the federal laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to this Agreement. This governing law applies regardless of where you reside or where the transaction is consummated, to the fullest extent allowed.
Jurisdiction and Venue. You agree that any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this Agreement or your use of the payment services that cannot be resolved amicably shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. You hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objections on the grounds of inconvenient forum or otherwise. However, if you are a resident of Canada, and if a court of competent jurisdiction determines that you have certain rights to bring a claim in your home province under applicable consumer protection laws, this jurisdiction clause does not limit any such rights to the extent they are unwaivable.
Class Action Waiver. You and Granum agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You further agree to waive any right to a jury trial in any action between you and Granum to the extent permitted by law.
Canadian Users. This Agreement is intended to apply in Canada as well as the United States, except to the extent that any provision of this Agreement is prohibited by the laws of Canada or the province in which you reside, in which case the conflicting provision shall not apply to the limited extent of that prohibition. The parties have specifically requested that this Agreement be drawn up in English. Les parties déclarent qu’elles ont exigé que la présente entente et tous les documents s’y rattachant soient rédigés en langue anglaise seulement.
Granum reserves the right to change, modify, or update this Agreement at any time at its sole discretion. Granum will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Agreement on our website (or within the payment interface) with a new “Effective Date” or by other reasonable notice methods. It is your responsibility to review the Agreement for any changes when you make a payment. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you should not continue to use the payment services. By continuing to use Granum’s payment platform after any changes to this Agreement take effect, you are indicating your acceptance of those changes and agreement to be bound by the updated terms.
Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between you and Granum with respect to the payment services and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous agreements or understandings on that subject. If you are also subject to other agreements or terms by virtue of using other Granum services or creating an account, those terms remain in effect for matters not addressed here. In the event of a direct conflict between this Agreement and other agreements and terms, this Agreement will control for payment-related issues.
Waiver; Severability. Granum’s failure to enforce any term of this Agreement in a particular instance will not constitute a waiver of our right to do so in the future. Any waiver of any provision of this Agreement will be effective only if in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Granum. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions of this Agreement will remain in full force and effect.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under this Agreement without Granum’s prior written consent. Any attempted assignment in violation of the foregoing is null and void. Granum may assign to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. This Agreement binds permitted successors and assigns.
Relationship. Nothing in this Agreement creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and Granum. Both parties are independent entities contracting at arm’s length.
Third-Party Beneficiaries. Except as expressly provided in Section 7 above (with respect to Granum’s service providers), this Agreement does not and is not intended to confer any rights or remedies upon any person other than the parties to this Agreement.
Force Majeure. Neither party is liable for delays or failures (other than payment obligations) due to events beyond its reasonable control. If such an event continues for more than 30 days, either party may terminate on notice.
Notices. Communications and notices to you may be provided electronically (to the email or SMS number you provided when making a payment) or via the user interface when you make a payment. Legal notices to Granum must be sent to [email protected] and by mail to: Granum, Attn: Legal Department, 1075 Peachtree Street NE, Suite 3225, Atlanta, GA 30309, USA.
Publicity. Granum may identify you as a user of the payment services unless you opt out in writing.
Intellectual Property. Granum and its licensors retain all IP rights in the payment services and related software, materials and intellectual property. A limited, revocable license is granted to use the payment services as provided. Feedback may be used by Granum without restriction.
Headings; Interpretation. Headings are for convenience only. “Including” means “including without limitation.” References to laws include amendments/successors.
Electronic Acceptance. Electronic signatures/acceptance (e.g., checking a box, clicking “Agree”) have the same effect as a signed original.
