Steady Growth, Even When the Market Isn’t

Founded in 2002, Aquidneck Landworks has spent over two decades building a reputation for designing, constructing, and maintaining award-winning, high-end residential landscapes across Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts. Their market is largely shaped by second- and third-home owners—seasonal clients who desire premium outdoor entertainment spaces, custom masonry, and precision plunge pools, and who tend to be less rattled by shifts in the broader economy than the typical homeowner.

That steadier, high-end client base gave Aquidneck room to grow consistently, especially after 2014, when they partnered with LMN. As an organization that prides itself on deep horticultural expertise—boasting a roster heavily staffed by RI Certified Horticulturists and Invasive Plant Managers—the demand for their craft was always high. Revenue and team size climbed year over year, and they successfully held onto premium clients from the company’s earliest days.

But steady demand and high-caliber craftsmanship don’t fix operational problems on their own. They just mean you have more chances to get the fundamentals right — or wrong — every single morning.

The Challenge: Losing the Morning Before the Job Even Started

For a long time, Aquidneck’s crews were showing up to the yard on time, and then losing the morning anyway. Trucks sat loading. Crews waited on materials. Some mornings, crews were still in the yard well past 9 am, which pushed job-site clock-in far later than it should have been. Multiply that lost time across every crew, every day, every week of the season, and it adds up to a lot of paid hours that never touched a job site.

How Aquidneck Fixed It: Morning Roll Out

Aquidneck’s answer was a documented standard. They built an SOP called Morning Roll Out, spelling out exactly what good looks like for every frontline crew member before they leave the yard, and deployed it through Greenius so every crew member could actually learn and reference it. They went a step further and put QR codes in every truck, linking straight to the SOPs, so the standard is always one scan away and top of mind.

It’s a simple fix built on a principle that shows up everywhere at Aquidneck: don’t guess, document it, and make sure the whole team can see it.

Systems and Tools: Four Pillars, One Operating System

Aquidneck credits LMN with raising the bar across budgeting, estimating, CRM, job tracking, and LMN Crew — with Greenius handling the training side. Together, the two platforms touch all four pillars the team tracks: Finance, Sales, Ops, and People.

That structure has taken the guesswork out of pricing jobs and labor. Aquidneck now tracks jobs with accuracy and consistency, rather than gut feel. They invest more than $80,000 a year in training — an investment LMN’s budgeting tools make easy to justify and recover.

The Results: From Lost Mornings to a $350K Year

Morning team huddle

The Morning Roll Out SOP moved average job-site clock-in from 8:06 a.m. to 7:32 a.m. Moving that needle by over 30 minutes a day meant recovering hours of previously wasted time every single week.

Scaled across Aquidneck’s 45 frontline workers over a full year, that discipline translated into more than $350,000 in reduced waste — time that went from sitting in the yard to producing revenue on the job site.

Zoom out further, and the bigger number is this: Aquidneck built its first LMN budget in 2014 at $1.6 million. Their 2026 budget and revenue goal sits at $8.9 million. That’s a massive 5.5X leap since partnering with LMN, with Greenius adding the training foundation to scale that growth with confidence.

“Subscribing to LMN was the best business decision I have ever made…I don’t think I can even put a number on the ROI.”

Rick Miranda, Owner & President at Aquidneck Landworks

Aquidneck has always believed in helping other business owners do better and the Break Records Tour is their chance to show, not just tell, how partnering with LMN and Greenius changed their trajectory. That’s why they’re opening their yard as the host site for the Break Records Tour stop in Providence, RI on July 30–31, 2026.

Day One, led by Sam Gembel, digs into the numbers, pricing, and systems behind a profitable landscape business. Day Two, led by Brian Fullerton, takes attendees inside Aquidneck’s real operation to see those systems running live — including the Morning Roll Out SOP in action.

What Aquidneck hopes attendees walk away with: a clear picture of what a top-tier business operating system actually looks like on the ground, without getting hung up on the cost of getting there.
